About Us

Our Story

Trinity was first founded in a home in 1934. The church later moved to a location in Warrenville, then a location near downtown Naperville until 1989. The church then met in Beebe School for two years, until the present property was purchased in 1991. Over the following decade, the property was expanded to include our gym, kitchen, and full education and office wing.

Our Beliefs

God

We believe that God has eternally existed as Father, Son, and Spirit. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, holy, and good. God is love.

Humanity

We believe that we were created in God's image to know and love God. But because of sin - willful disobedience to God's divine laws - we are separated from God.

Jesus Christ

We believe that God so loved us that He sent His Son to suffer the punishment that we deserved. God raised Jesus from the dead and He lives at God's right hand advocating for us.

Salvation by Grace

We believe that we can be reunited with God by believing in Jesus, repenting of our sins and inviting Jesus to become Savior and Lord of our lives.

The Church

We believe that Jesus formed the Church (the people, not a building) as a community to worship, learn, live in community with other believers, and serve our neighbors. We are better together.

Discipleship

We believe that believers in Jesus are to spend time with Him through Bible study and prayer, become more like Him, and start living and loving like Jesus did with the help of the Holy Spirit and the Church.

Church of the Nazarene

The Church of the Nazarene is a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. With over 2 million members worldwide, we are united in our mission to make Christlike disciples in the nations.

Nazarene Denomination

Trinity Church of the Nazarene is part of the Church of the Nazarene, an evangelical denomination with headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. The Church of the Nazarene is part of the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition tracing its roots to an anniversary date of 1908. It was founded to spread the good news of the gospel and the message of hope and victorious, holy living.

The Church of the Nazarene is a Great Commission church. We believe that God offers to everyone forgiveness, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are called to take this message to people everywhere.

We believe that Christians can experience a deeper level of Christian living in finding victory over the sin that has held them captive and powerless. Power is available to every believer to witness and serve, through a deeper relationship with God, through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
